genuine and loyal SBs - I need your opinion

Hi genuine and loyal SBs, I need your opinion - I'm really confused about something that happened recently.

Last week, an SB texted me saying she was genuine and only did virtual arrangements. I agreed, and during our chats, I opened up about my breakup and the suicidal thoughts I had. She seemed to care for me and even joined an audio call with me on Day 1. On Day 2, though, she barely spoke on the call. I had clearly said from the beginning that I saw this as a friendship, something I wanted to last long-term. I genuinely cared for her and saw her as a true friend.

On Day 2, she brought up the topic of allowance. I explained that since I saw her as a friend, I didn’t want to make it transactional like a weekly payment, but I’d still financially support her, get her gifts, etc. Honestly, I felt guilty for even thinking of it as a typical SB arrangement because it felt emotionless.

She disagreed and said she always wanted a SD with a fixed weekly allowance, she asked for ₹8k per week. In the early convo, she had said things like she’d never leave even if I didn’t pay. But a few days later, everything turned into just money talk (gift cards specifically). Every message was like, “Hey, did you get me the GC?” and honestly I didn’t expect her to change like that.

Even then, I agreed to the allowance and tried to negotiate since 8k for a virtual arrangement felt too much. She didn’t budge at all. A few days ago, I finally agreed to pay and just asked her to verify herself with a faceless pic. But instead, she asked for my photo first and even though I had already shared multiple photos (with face) on Day 1. I wasn’t even asking for a full photo of her, just a faceless one, but she didn’t send a single image.

I even told her my real name and personal details, but she never told even her real name, even during the audio calls. Despite all this, I still cared about her, especially since she said she was going through health issues and taking antidepressants. But almost every evening she would text just to ask if I was going to send the gift card or not.

Today it ended. She brought up the allowance again, and I asked her to verify herself and she blocked me.

I genuinely tried to discuss with her and explain, why was it so hard to verify ? Why was I expected to share so much, including my name and photos, and trust her, but she wouldn’t even share a faceless pic ?

So, dear SBs, what really happened here?

• Was “she” even a “she” or "He" ? (though we did talk on audio the first two days)
• Was she just after money and pretending to care so she could ghost me after payment ?
• I’ve spoken to other SBs here, even the fake/scammy ones verified themselves.
• Why wouldn’t she even share a faceless pic ? Why so much secrecy ?
• If I had paid, would she have just ghosted me ?
