The Story of r/BallEarthThatSpins and the Golden Banhammer
I was here less than a week ago and your numbers are skyrocketing. Wow.
No, I'm not a troll. Honestly I haven't even looked at the posts here. But they are probably more accurate than the "monkey descendant's" history.
I don't think anyone gets trolled harder than flat earthers. We are the guys who get made fun of even by the red-headed step children.
r/flatearth was taken over by trolls, and anyone trying to understand biblical cosmology or any other facet of flat earth were greeted by all sorts of snickering talking heads who's main aim was to shame them.
So in response r/BallEarthThatSpins was made. So flat earth content got posted there, and the "globies" would attack those posts.
Here's where it got interesting. They had one guy there who wielded the ban-hammer like Thor. That made the place EVEN MORE interesting, so the globies flocked to r/BallEarthThatSpins like flies to a bug zapper.
In a short time they went from small numbers to 4k (potentially hundreds of subs a day, mostly the opposition).
So banning people made the place gain numbers. Flat Earth was like the glober porn addiction.
But then something changed -- they made a bad call. They stopped banning people (probably because everyone in reddit got banned there lol) and let all the talking heads have their say.
The effect? They stopped increasing in numbers so quickly.
When they were handing out spankings, everyone lined up to show their backsides.
When they stopped, everyone lost interest, after they got to freely vomit their silly cosmology they learned in school into the flat earth posts.
Anyway... here is a take away message:
