I'm super excited to share something I've been building in my spare time: Looker Boy, a free Chrome extension designed to make life a lot easier for anyone working with Looker.

As someone who spends a good chunk of time in data, I often found myself wishing for a quicker way to get answers about LookML syntax, dashboard insights, or just general Looker questions without breaking my flow. So, I decided to build it myself!

Looker Boy is essentially an AI assistant that lives right in your browser while you're on a Looker page. Think of it as having an expert right there to give you instant guidance. It's especially handy for data analysts, business analysts, and BI developers.

Here's the cool part:

• Instant Help: Ask it anything about Looker, LookML, or data visualization, and get an immediate answer.
• Privacy First: This was a huge one for me. Your data never leaves your machine. It uses your own OpenAI or Google Gemini API keys, and all processing is local. No tracking, no data collection by the extension.
• Context-Aware: It actually understands which Looker page you're on, so its answers are more relevant.

I developed this to genuinely help Looker users and learners in their day-to-day work. It's completely free, and I'm really keen to hear what you all think!
