Foaming soap pump

Hi all. I recently bought a simple human foaming soap pump from homegoods. I get it home, unbox it, plug it up and nothing! I followed the trouble shooting and it didn’t work. The charger light does not come on, the power button does nothing, and no soap dispenses. I contact simplehuman and they can’t help me since this unit was apparently manufactured in 2023. So my question is am I doing something wrong? Or is it just a faulty product and I’m out $70? Anyone else have anything similar and what did you do to fix it?
