I feel like supercell has practically scammed me in some way

Hey everyone,

I need to get this off my chest because I’m beyond frustrated and honestly feel like I’ve been scammed by supercell, and their customer support is serving me a nothing burger with a side of AI. I'm posting here because support, like i said, has been absolutely useless, and i feel like this could potentially get traction and MAYBE catch the eyes of an employee, but that is a big if.

Here’s the story:

I bought 2 brawl passes specifically to gift them to my friends. Gifting is the entire reason I purchased these passes. It was supposed to be a surprise, a way to make my friends happy right away. But here’s the kicker: I wasn’t warned anywhere that gifting was disabled in my region due to their new regional pricing rollout.

After the purchase, I tried to gift the passes, and I got an error: “This friend is unable to receive donations at this time.”

I spent hours digging through settings, trying different devices, even asked my friends to check their settings. Everything looked normal. No option to enable or disable gifting anywhere. Then I contacted support.

At first, I got fast replies, but they were empty and generic. The explanations shifted over time: first it was “regional pricing disables gifting in your country,” then “we’re reworking the gifting system,” and now “donations will be re-enabled after testing finishes, but cross-region gifting will never be allowed.”

In short: I paid for a product with the expectation it could be gifted, and I cannot gift it at all. The feature was silently disabled for my country without any prior warning. That’s basically false advertising.

What makes it worse is the support (or should I say, corporate minions) just keep sending me robotic, vague replies like:

“Unfortunately, is not possible.”

“Thanks for your understanding.”

“We’re sorry for the inconvenience.”

No timeline. No escalation. No actual help. Just copypasted lines that feel like they were generated by a malfunctioning ChatGPT copy.

I asked politely for a temporary exception or compensation, even suggested a 48-hour whitelist so I could gift my friends as intended. The answer? A hard “no,” because the policy applies to everyone in my country.

I’m stuck holding items I can’t use as gifts, with no notice beforehand, and a support team that refuses to do anything except send meaningless apologies.

Here’s why this sucks so much:

The whole point of gifting is to share and connect with friends, often across borders. If I can only gift people in my own country, what’s the point?

Regional pricing was supposed to make the game more affordable in poorer countries, but now it’s just created more restrictions and hidden penalties that hurt players.

No warning before purchase means supercell let me spend money on a feature I can’t use. That’s shady at best.

Customer support treats players like numbers, not humans, and refuses to escalate or acknowledge the frustration caused.

I’m sharing this here because I want to call out this nonsense. If you’re a Supercell employee, please hear this: players deserve transparency, respect, and real support. Don’t bury players under corporate scripts and vague excuses.

To my fellow players: beware. Make sure you check if gifting works in your region before buying. And if you’re in a regional pricing zone, don’t expect to gift anytime soon.

I’m not asking for special treatment. I just want what I paid for. If you’re in the same boat, I hope this post helps you avoid the same frustration.

Thanks for eating up my entire day with vague, useless replies and turning what should’ve been a positive, generous moment into pure bitterness, supercell.

I bought those brawl passes to give joy to my friends, but instead, I’m stuck battling your opaque policies and robotic support responses.

Instead of making gifting a seamless, happy experience, you turned it into a frustrating maze of errors, silence, and excuses.

Thanks for reminding me that sometimes, paying doesn’t mean getting what you actually wanted, just a ticket to customer service hell.
