AC suddenly struggling

So 2 days ago I went down and changed my air filter. Everything looked and sounded fine. Changed filter no issues. Since then my AC suddenly hasn't shut off and isn't cooling my house. I went outside to check for any plants there were a few (like 3 leaves) so I pulled them out and got rid of them. I looked for any ice build up listened for any sounds that sounded off. Everything appeared normal. Went downstairs where my unit is changed the filter yet again just in the off chance it had something to do with that particular filter (seemed unlikely but wanted to cover my bases since it was the only thing I had changed) checked the little water drain reservoir it wasn't full theres water but not passed the outflow to drain it. Checked the drain pipe there was water in it so it seems to be draining effectively. Went back and checked my thermostat and it had gone up yet another degree. Its currently 83 degrees outside and now 78 degrees inside. My vents are all blowing cold air so I'm not sure what suddenly caused all of this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
