What's it like fostering a group of kittens?

Question

Hello all! I am a new-ish foster who's been working with a great rescue. So far, I've fostered two dogs and am currently fostering a 13-week-old solo kitten. At home, I have a resident 4 y/o cat and 9 y/o small dog. The cat is great with the kitten, who loves playing with him. I live in a narrow rowhome with no one room I can spare to fully kitten-proof (except my very small bathroom). She's allowed to roam free during the day, but overnight I put her in a crate with a bed, blankets, toys, litter box, and water.

Solo kittens aren't uncommon with my rescue and my big-boy cat is great company for them. But I know kittens thrive with their littermates around. I'm just nervous I won't be able to accommodate 3-5ish of them! I keep seeing people say, however, that they mostly entertain themselves when they come in groups lol.

So... I would love some real talk from folks: what's it like fostering 3-5 kittens? Especially if you have pets at home, live in a smaller house, or live alone. Thank you!
