1995 Polaris sl750 low acceleration plus overheat warning. TLDR how hard is checking timing

I’ve been working on this ski for about a year now brand new to mechanics let alone on a jetski. I just replaced the head gaskets opened the mfd and cleaned and sealed it plus replaced the cdi. I think I might be having timing issues based on the symptoms in the title. Plus changing cdi could change timing I guess. How hard is it to check/adjust timing on these skis.
