Senior Citizen Tax Exemption Advice.

So I have my father that currently resides in Queens County in NYC. And he applied for the tax exemption for senior citizens. He then gets a letter in June but then gives it to me on the deadline day (today!) July 9, 2025 deadline to apply for the appeal. I can’t blame him too much because he’s elderly and he’s not too good at deadlines because of how his age affected his mind. If we go tomorrow in person to appeal with all the documents will they be accommodating even if it’s the day after the deadline on the notice?
