Events this weekend or Non-touristy things to do

My birthday is coming up this Friday and i haven't had found much to do this weekend. I'm looking for a low cost or free event or festival to go to. Even some, hole in the wall type places to check out for a drink. Not trying to just stick to Broadway. Any help much appreciated!
