It’s bittersweet that there’s a Nami in pretty much every game.
I’ve been maining Nami for a few years now and last year I honestly didn’t see Nami very often. However, as of right now there’s a Nami (not including myself) in at least half of my games.
On one hand, Nami being popular means she’ll get skins and it’s nice seeing a champ I love so much getting so much love from the playerbase.
On the other hand, Nami having such a high pickrate means I can’t play her most games if the enemy support picks before me, and she has a chance to be nerfed.
It feels like Nami is one of the champs people who don’t specialize in support gravitate towards if they are filled onto support. I honestly feel like those players are keeping her play rate high but winrate lower than it would be if only otp’s played her. It does kind of suck maining a popular champ, thankfully Nami has a low ban rate compared to some other popular champs though.
Do you like Nami’s popularity, or would you rather she go back to being played by her mains more than by anyone? No wrong answers.
