A heavy noise

Original Content Poem

It’s the subtleness of living in a murky
environment
That you forget yourself,
Your light, your energy, who you were born
to be
As you grow up, the light gets dimmer
You meet people who are opposing to you
People who place their beliefs and negative
perceptions onto you
That you start to think that being yourself is
bad
That there is something inherently wrong with you.
It takes courage, and a lot of strength to
find yourself again,
To understand who you were before all the
noise
Before words of deception, and tricks are
muttered into your ear
It takes being able to finally listen to yourself
again, and again,
To be in comfort of who you are.
You won’t be the same of course, there’s
more broken pieces.
It’s unrealistic to say that the people who
hurt you won’t affect you..
But in the end, it’s still you.
Just stronger, and more better now.
A version that is more mature, broken, but
still herself through it all. She doesn’t care
anymore now, she’s just going to remain
being herself. And nothing can stop her.
