Bookwork struggles: advice needed
Throwaway account.
2/3 of the way through my apprenticeship bookwork. Failed 3 already, 6 gets you kicked out.
I study my fucking ass off yet I always pass by the skin of my teeth or fail. I’m not sure if I’m just not studying right and I can use some advice on how to do it better I guess?
I’m a good apprentice at work (told by other people, not tooting my own horn) and the books are my biggest hindrance.
The quizzes online I do until I get 100 on each one, then keep taking them over and over. I study the chapters in the textbooks to actually grasp what it’s about. I take notes, look at all the course material and watch videos online about what the tests about
Its a fucking impossible amount of knowledge to remember, but I try to grasp what I can so I can be ready for anything until some random ass questions come up that are so out of left field it’s mind boggling. My last test had one that asked “what year and country was the first traffic signal installed?” Which was a tiny line in the mountain of course material to remember.
Not trying to sound too whiny or bitchy because that’s exactly how this seems but I’m just really frustrated. Trying my best and it doesn’t seem like enough.
What study methods worked for yall? Clearly whatever I’m doing isn’t working
TLDR; apprentice struggling with books, need ideas for better study habits
