Classical lit. book recommendations?

Sorry in advance if this has been asked before. I’m Turkish but my family moved to the United States when I was a young child, and as a result, my English is (unfortunately) much more developed than my Turkish is. I don’t struggle to communicate verbally despite my accent, but reading Turkish takes effort, and my vocabulary and knowledge of idioms are both very lacking. Are there any classical Turkish literature books you all would recommend for someone with a grasp of the language but aren’t heavy? I considered reading Turkish translations but I want to get more in touch with my culture.
