Do I need a screen protector to turn in my device?

So, the screen protector on my Flip 6 has been all bubbled up on the crease for months. I used to go to the Samsung repair center in my city and get it replaced for free, but they've since closed, and wcheduling an appointment at authorized centers has had my appointment cancelled without explanation. I want to trade my 6 in for the 7, but I'm wondering if I should just remove the protector and replace it with one I could buy from Amazon first. I don't want to fail inspection because this protector's all lifted up and dirty or because I don't have one at all. Any recommendations or similar experiences?
