Sealing outdoor Shou Sugi Ban Log bench (Yakisugi)

Hello all. Friend just chopped up a maple tree that fell onto her property and several pieces logs were ripped in half with the intention of making log benchs around the homestead. Thinking on trying yakisugi for the first time and I also am not the most keen on finishes/sealers etc. I have read on other posts on reddit and through Google several different ways of sealing and protecting the log benches but was curious if anyone has experience with any of these and the pros/cons of them. They will be in mostly shaded areas and left outside all year obviously in zone 6b. I'm leaning toward red label penofin perhaps but I'm curious as to what is also recommended. Not trying to spend an arm and a leg on whatever it may be as well if that's worth mentioning. Thanks!
