Wife gives toddler candy at 7pm before bed and I take it off him?

A year and a half and I see him walking around with a pouch of fruit snacks loaded with sugar. I take.. he freaks.. my wife comes and says I gave him that and gets pissed. He's going to bed in under an hour wtf
