Which us cities are at the same level of non Prudishiness as major European cities ?

Not every US city is some kind of prudish, hell hole right ?

So I've been talking to someone recently who has never visited the US and well seems to be the average us bad type kind of guy but in real life and he said that all places in the US are incredibly prudish, not open sexually like in Europe

while another friend who visited NYC said its the opposite and no different from Paris or London or Madrid, so how many places in the US in terms of cities are pretty much on the same level as these kind of European cities ?
