JBL Tune Flex’s quieter after update?

I recently updated my JBL tune flex’s to the latest software update and they aren’t nearly as loud as they used to be.

I used to be able to adjust the equalizer so that it was so loud some songs clipped and now every single equalizer setting I had before is so quiet and not nearly as loud. What gives?
