moving out of state 1,000 miles away
so i am moving to a whole new state. i currently work from home for a company based in another state, where their employees have just recently gone back to being fully in the office, and remote days are more so request. however, they’re actually really accommodating for me. i went through a divorce a few years back and had to move back home, and they allowed me to work remotely because (not to toot my own horn) i think they didn’t want to lose me as an employee.
so my question is, if i decide i am moving to a new state for essentially my own personal issues (went no contact with dad who has recently started trying to intimidate me by walking and driving down my street so i just want to get away from him all together) should i tell my employer before i move and explain my next sob story, or after i’ve already moved and changed addresses?
