Learning how to cry again?

I’ve always found my sensitivity, embarrassing, even more so when I would cry. I used a lot of self-taught negative reinforcement to combat this. At the time, I thought I was making myself stronger. Now I deeply regret it. Whenever I’m overwhelmed or need to cry it out I’ll shed a few crocodile tears, and that’s it. The need to cry will still be there. The emotion is just caught in my throat or my chest or I’ll get a headache. Does anyone have any advice on reversing this? I’ve done therapy and I’m much more comfortable, allowing my emotions to overtake me than I used to be. I no longer feel as embarrassed to cry. I think if I were able to let it out I’d feel so much better.
