Denied Google Store Price Match Because I Used a Store Credit — Is That Normal?
I purchased a Pixel 9a for $499 from the Google Store and used a $150 Google Store credit toward the purchase. A couple of days later, the phone’s price dropped to $449 on the same site.
I reached out to request a price match, since I’m still well within the return period and the lower price is from Google itself. But support told me I’m not eligible because I had already used a "discount" (the $150 store credit).
That felt strange — I assumed store credits work like gift cards and wouldn’t disqualify me from a price match, especially when the price dropped directly on the Google Store itself.
Has anyone else run into this before? Is this standard policy? Should I push back?
Thanks in advance.
