Trying to keep everyone together but failing

I had a really weird nightmare. I was in a big building with my friends (I have 2 friend group and they hate each other), my cousin, and my mom and dad (they're divorced). I knew there was a serial killer in the building, but no matter what I did, no one believed me. They kept saying I was just being paranoid, or that I was trying to keep them all together on purpose.

They kept getting into fights or getting distracted, and eventually, they decided to split into groups. I didn’t want that to happen because if they split up, I’d have to choose one group to protect. I begged them not to separate, over and over again.

But eventually, I got tired of begging. So I left the group entirely. And in the end, I was the first one who got killed.
