Help: Car Insurance claim question

on Monday while going to work going through a green light, a homeless guy on a bicycle T-boned by 2023 CRV hybrid sport. I just bought. Then tried to flee the scene but got em. Ended up filing a police report. He broke my mirror off and scratched my car. I decided to file a claim knowing he’s not gonna pay. To go to work and drive safely I decided to glue my mirror back on because it was raining and the tape was falling off the mirror. It got on the paint. Now I’m worried that the insurance company will make me liable for the repainting the door panel. Plus 1k deductible, and car rental. Should I just scratch the door panel?
