Hey there!
So rather than picking up a sports car, I decided to go back to a teenage hobby, building Gundam for my midlife crisis. Wow! The kids have gotten a lot better since 1998! Wing Gundam EW finally doesn't look like a bad N64 game!

So I am a moderately experienced painter, about 14 years with acrylics. I have no interest in getting an airbrush, and I've identified that currently Gundam pretty much lives and breathes by airbrush or lacquer. I'm wondering if any of you guys have any recommendations for acrylics that work well with these plastics? I've got lots of experience with citadel, some with AK, I've been wanting to try the SMS (because the eye stickers are difficult as hell, and I need an excuse to play around with glow-in-the-dark paint. I'm also welcome of any primers, I mostly have experience with rattle can primers due to painting miniatures. I'm not against rattle can, but I know that they don't coat as evenly, and I'm not painting an army.

I've also tried the Gundam markers.... With some level of success. First time with Gundam markers for panel lining attached. Unfortunately, just not really for me, I found the process incredibly frustrating, and even with isopropyl and ethylene (tested on a panel, not attached) just did not find the experience to be an enjoyable one. Any and all advice is very much welcome, however, I only have an acrylic background, and I'm wanting to produce a decent looking kit with acrylic before I even consider moving on to anything else. Thank you very much, and I hope you all have a great day!
