S2 E6&7 - Cora seems very "Unfeeling" and it's quite annoying.

My umpteenth time watching Downton Abbey, currently in Season 2 Episode 7 and in the last two episodes, especially regarding the whole Matthew-Mary-Richard dynamic and the comment about Bates' situation. She feels very apathetic towards Matthew and Bates and their situations.
I understand that she's trying to protect Mary and make sure that she has a successful marriage, >!and also the writers were building up the whole Robert "cheating" saga o_o!< but for a woman who was so invested in the future of Downton and its heir, she seems to disregard Matthew so much so, without a care towards his situation.
I just wanted to get this feeling off my chest.
