C4T.jpg
I can't sleep anymore.. i regret opening the file...
If you ever see a pop-up that says “Are you a cat lover? Check out our adoptable cats!” — don’t click it. Please. Don’t be like me.
It started so normal. I was scrolling through some random site at like 2 a.m. when a small ad popped up on my screen: “Are you a cat lover? Check out our adoptable cats!”
I thought, “Aw, cute,” and clicked it. Nothing major happened. Just a flash of red text for a second:
“Thanks for your sacrifice…”
And then my browser crashed.
Weird? Yeah. Creepy? Not really. I figured it was some edgy malware prank. I restarted, scanned for viruses — nothing popped. Everything seemed fine.
For a few days.
That’s when things started to go off.
My games lagged and played backwards. My music apps glitched. YouTube videos would buffer forever, or start playing from the end.
I figured my PC was corrupted or something. So I opened my file explorer to clean it up.
That’s when I saw it: C4T.jpg — sitting alone in my pictures folder.
I didn’t put it there. The file date just said “Unknown.”
I clicked it.
The image… it was just a cat. A white cat, kind of grainy. Big round eyes. Black smudge on its nose. Creepy, but not horrific.
Red eyes were floating around them. There was a faint message embedded in the pixels, just barely visible:
“PET ME.”
The longer I stared, the more nauseous I got. Something about it felt alive. Like it was watching me back.
I closed it. Deleted it.
I thought that was the end.
It wasn’t.
The next day, it was back in my folder. Same name. Same image.
I deleted it again. Rebooted. Still there.
I backed up my files and factory reset my whole damn computer. It was STILL THERE.
At this point I was losing sleep. Every time I shut my eyes, I saw red dots blinking in the dark — just like the ones in the photo.
I started hearing purring. In my headphones. In my room. Even when everything was turned off.
I stopped sitting in the dark. I stopped petting my actual cat. I couldn’t even look at cats anymore without feeling sick.
One night, I woke up to find a text file on my desktop. It was called pet_me.txt.
Inside, it just said:
"i’m watching. don’t leave."
Then, the file renamed itself. To feed_me.txt.
That same night, I swear I saw something in the corner of my room. Something low to the ground. Watching. Breathing.
They say there’s one way to survive.
You have to forward the file. Send C4T.jpg to someone else. Trick them into opening it.
The curse jumps hosts. It needs a new screen. A new set of eyes.
The pop-up still appears for them:
“Are you a cat lover? Check out our adoptable cats!”
But most people aren’t dumb enough to click it. So your chances? Not great.
And if no one opens it in time... The cat comes for you.
In your dreams. In your room.
You either go insane, or it ends you itself. You’ll know it’s close when you find the final message — scrawled on your screen, or your wall, or across your chest in something red:
“Curiosity killed the cat… :3”
If you’re reading this and you find the file… delete it. Or don’t. I don’t care anymore. Just don’t say I didn’t warn you.
