AITA for causing drama with my future housemates after I slept with one of them?
I (20M) am moving into a uni house with four girls: S (21F) and B (20F), who’ve been close friends of mine for two years; K (20F), who I know more casually; and N (21F), a recent addition. Before confirming N, she was invited on a night out to see if she fit. At the club, she and I flirted and almost kissed. The other girls saw.
After that, we acted like nothing happened. We saw each other at house viewings, things seemed normal, and she joined the house. A couple months later, after another night out, N and I kissed and ended up sleeping together. I was extremely drunk and didn’t remember the night.
The next morning, I woke to angry voice notes from the others saying I’d “ruined the living situation” and needed to stop. They’d seen us kissing in the club, tried to separate us, tracked N on Snap Maps, and told her to stop. She turned off her location because she got spooked.
Over the next week, they ignored me. When I finally got to talk to them, they called me selfish and manipulative. I was exhausted and just listened. Around that time, N had a panic attack after learning a private secret she'd shared with one of the girls had been spread to the rest. She messaged me upset, unsure who to trust. I told her she could come to mine if she needed to talk. She did, visibly shaken. I calmed her down and encouraged her to rest. I said I’d speak to the others.
Fast-forward a few months: we were allocating rooms. The girls had already picked theirs, planning to put me and N on the ground floor (least desirable). They suggested a “random” wheel spin, but it matched their preferences exactly, which I predicted before each spin (odds <1%). N ended up with the worst room and asked to swap. I didn’t, but I admitted I thought the wheel was rigged.
I later messaged the group saying I felt the whole situation had been handled unfairly—from the post-hookup backlash to the room allocation. Things exploded. I revealed they’d said turning off Snap Maps was “to be petty,” but I then got accused of “policing” them. K (who hadn’t told me this before) said it was because of a stalker. B said my messages were “scary.” S told me I had no right to complain after “messing everything up.” Every attempt I made to explain or clarify was shut down.
S eventually told me they didn’t want to be close anymore and needed space. I apologized and said I understood.
This isn’t the first time they’ve tried to interfere with the girls I’ve been involved with.
AITA?
