I am so furious with Atlantic Superstore and need to vent

Before I get too deep into this I don't want to bury the lead: A manager made my experience right and got me sorted.

My mom is disabled and I work full time so we have groceries delivered. I'm using Doordash simply because Dash Pass comes included in my Amazon Prime membership.

Yesterday at 4:00 PM we got a $200 grocery order. Today I went to make supper and opened the bag of onions and the onion was rotten. w/e I'll toss it and grab another. But that one was rotten too, in fact the whole bag was rotten. I'm not talking the type of rot where you just pull off the outer layer; these were rotten to the core.

So I took the onions and went down to Super Store to do an exchange. The guy at the service counter who helped me told me that since I purchased this on DoorDash I have to go through them for a refund and then I can buy a new bag of onions.

I tried explaining to him that I understand that but it's a wild thing to do for a $4 bag of onions when we can just cut them out and exchange them on the spot. I told him that process is going to involve at least three transaction fees and it's impractical for a $4 transaction.

He then goes on to explain to me that I didn't buy from Superstore but that I bought from Doordash and that I need to go through them. He then had the nerve to pivot into a sales pitch by saying if I had ordered through PC's app instead of DoorDash I could have avoided this situation.

I was about to lose my shit on this guy but thankfully a manager walked by the desk and asked what was going on. I explained and showed her my receipts and she let me get a new bag of onions and had me sign something and sent me on my way.

I understand compliance with policies is important but this clown was straight up maliciously complying. And worst of all he kept misgendering me by calling me 'maam' ... I am a 6'4" 350lb native with a full beard and wearing a new era flatbill in what world do you mistake that for female?

Ugh I am so heated right now.
