Thinking of cutting off my family

I’m currently 21 years old. I come from a Hispanic household. My parents have been absent for a lot of my life and I didn’t come to that realization till after I started going to therapy.

My mom never went to any of my school events as a kid. And my dad was always working.

I recently graduating nursing school and my dad did not show up to the graduation.

I got married and my dad said no to attending and walking me down the aisle. None of my family showed up. My side of the aisle was empty. Turns out, they held a family gathering during the ceremony.

I’m currently pregnant with my first child. I was told she’d have some minor chromosomal issue. I confided in my mother and she went and told the entire family. She recorded the interaction I had with the doctor and was attempting to send it around. I was hysterical and my dad told me to go home to my husband. I had no business crying about it to them and to not return there again if I was just going to be crying about it to them.

I’m a first generation student. When I graduating nursing school, my dad bought me a new car. He told me it would be mine once I had a full time job… at 7 months pregnant. I told him i needed time.. a lot of time since im going through a high risk pregnancy. A month later, he bought my SAHM sister a brand new 2025 Nissan. She stays at home with them, doesn’t pay rent, and gets free child care from them.

I asked my mom if she can help me with childcare once my baby is born just to get on my feet for a bit. She said she’d charge me 30/hr.

All things considered, should I cut them off?
