Can I just use odyssey dlc and not some of the other ones in 1.6?

Sorry if this is a dumb question- I just never really liked the genetics and royal dlc. The mech stuff was cool, but with the new DLC and 1.6, I just want to build my grav ship and explore, not worry about appeasing people's ideologies or royalty. Thank!
