I ghosted my job and it felt liberating.
So I just finished college and I recently got a job at a nursing facility. It took them over 6 weeks to officially have me start despite hiring me. First it was something about fingerprints, then the boss was on vacation. I was willing to let it slide because I was excited. The people I worked with were great, but management not only lied about how much I would be paid but also spelled my name wrong in every email or printed notice.
The last straw was when I was scheduled for the weekend and then got sent home because my schedule had changed. I was not notified of this. That following Monday I got dress to go but felt so uncomfortable I had an anxiety attack. I realized it wasn't worth it especially when I was being paid 4-6 dollars less than what was discussed. I am uncertain about what's next but I'm happy I didn't return. I truly felt management didn't respect me of the effort I was putting into this job. I'm happy to be free. And I realize I'm lucky to have a parent who understands the importance of mental health. I just couldn't do it anymore.
