Vlog - Sand/gravel analogy and so much she doesn’t know
It bothers me just how much common knowledge she lacks, because she holds Jordy on a pedestal for knowing the most basic life lessons. That’s why he feels so superior to her even though she’s the breadwinner and he’s useless.
In this vlog, she talked about how Jordy told her that very well known sand/gravel/rock analogy about capacity and prioritizing and she said she had never heard about it in her life. She proceeded to talk about how he essentially brought her out into the garden and taught her about it with bricks and charms the way a youth pastor talks it through with a child. At first I thought she was trying to be quirky by infantilizing herself, but it seems like the reality is that she genuinely is a child and lacks common information and life lessons that the majority of adults have by the time they get to her age.
The stupidity of it all is that she tries to position herself as an expert despite her clear lack of understanding of simple concepts. She goes through life literally like a baby but worse because she doesn’t have the need or urgency to be curious about things she doesn’t know. She has even less ability to comprehend or reflect with any kind of analytical perspective — even less ability to do anything about what she might discover or stumble upon. She clings to Jordy to tell her what to think and how to feel because she hasn’t developed that ability for herself, which is scary.
