Pour basement in late Fall, finish in spring?

Hi, I’m located in Michigan and plan on building my house soon. (Sooner the better). Has anyone started in the late fall with excavation, poured the basement walls/footings, let it sit for the winter, and then finished the rest in the spring? I plan on doing rigid insulation under the slab and on the exterior of the basement walls.
