What are your hot takes part 2?

Here are some other hot takes.

  1. Whether you were discarded or left them, it's gonna hurt either way. Some people say it's better for you to get discarded than you having to leave them. Both scenarios suck for different reasons. I know their discard may be considered a "get out of jail free" card, but it can still leave you feeling ugly and worthless.

  2. Whether you date them for a few months or for a few years, decades, etc. It'll still fuck you up no matter what. I get that it's better the earlier you get out, but if you're not familiar with BPD like I was before the discard, it'll still fuck you up and convince you that you were the problem. In fact, in a world where there's so many flaky people and then you find someone you think is your person or soulmate (even though I hate the term), the sudden split/devaluation is jarring and can truly fuck with you, making you feel like you're the problem. It gets even worse if you get back into the dating scene and face rejection, no matter how much people have told you that your exwBPD's behavior was and how much you know about it.

  3. There is no definitive timeline for healing and nor should you rush it. Everyone is different when it comes to healing and you should truly take a break from dating until you're healed. If you're not available, another person won't magically heal you and if you get rejected, you will take it more personal and internalize your BPDex's fucked up behavior and we don't need that more than we've already done. I hate when people say "just get over it" or "don't worry, you'll find someone else", especially right after the breakup. It just feels condescending and patronizing. I wouldn't even tell that to someone who just had a breakup with a non BPD person.
