Is this a red flag or a different perspective? Should I leave?

30F dating 32M for a month or so. Went on 4 in-person dates and had many video calls in between too. Things seemed to be going well, he was kind, consistent and reliable, we had a lot in common. On third date, while making out in public, he said “I want to strip you”. In my experience, no one has said that in public that early before and I was taken aback. I told him the next day that I understand he has no bad intent but I was uncomfortable with it since it can be perceived as objectifying and I prefer more emotional compliments till we get to know each other. I even said I may like to hear such things when we are in a committed relationship. He seemed to be fine but was reserved on the 4th date and said my comments were offensive towards him since he would obviously never do that in public and would only be protective towards me. He also said I was contradictory for not saying anything in the moment, making him think it was fine, and then telling it the next day.

I am shocked to hear this since I needed time to process. What do you think?
