Missouri Conservation Heritage Card Question

Hi all,

I got my heritage card back in 2015. I had no idea that the new permit card replaces the heritage card. My question is, if I go and get my fishing permit (which I keep the paper copy with me anyway) do I need to keep it with me or is the heritage good enough since a conservation agent can look up my conservation number and see what active permits are associated?

I tried using Google and ask my question twenty different ways but never truly got a definitive answer.
