My wife has a particular best friend that lives out in the east coast. This BFF is married and has a family.

The family has had some ups and downs but they still manage to hang in there. The couple are around their early 40s. Husband works FT and the wife is a stay at home mom. He makes really good money and she takes car of the kids (to save money on daycare). This has been the system that works for them since they moved out there about 5-6 years now.

So thats the background of the bff's family dynamic. Recently, she gets a txt from 2 of her husband's coworkers that they plan to throw him a surprise birthday party. In the text, they asked if she would like to plan it with them. Not to mention, these 2 coworkers are female.

The BFF txt my wife and their group of friends that she's feeling uneasy about it. Even though she knows them and by the sounds of it, has met them on occassions before as well. But it just came off strange that they would throw her husband a surprise birthday party. Of course, the other bff's all have their opinions. Which they all essentially confirmed her initial feelings, that this seemed a bit odd. It's one thing to go out for drinks after work as colleges to celebrate a bday, but to plan a surprise bday for a coworker of the opposite sex who you know is married, is overstepping boundaries.

Of course, I just listened and kept my real opinion to myself. Im sure at one point or another, the husband has cheated on his wife. If not with these coworkers, then other female workers/colleagues in the past. The reason I say this is because he has shown many signs as someone who was/is cheating. There's been many times when he's used work as an excuse to not be with the family for whatever reason. Whether it be family road trips, to suddenly having to go work at the coffee shop at 8-10am on a Sunday morning. He's a chill guy, as I've met him before. But his actions has gotten me to believe he has definitely played around and even fucked some of his female coworkers/colleuges. But as I stated, Im not going to bring it up and put his business out there to his wife and my wife. Will just see how things play out.

What does everyone else think?
