If i had a +15 pink gear would i loose one level if i were to use it to enhance a yellow one ?

Out of curiosity, if i were to upgrade a pink gear to +15 with the fact that +15 gears never drop under, would i still loose 1 level if i were to use it to enhance a yellow gear with it ?
