We’re hiring a screenwriter with a flair for visual storytelling to join our YouTube team. This role focuses on crafting compelling screenplays for 2D animations that support narrative documentary content. You’ll help bridge the gap between educational research and cinematic storytelling.

$1,000/month

What You’ll Do:

• Write concise, visual-first scripts for animated segments in YouTube documentary videos
• Collaborate with researchers and scriptwriters to convert dense or complex information into visual narratives.
• Work closely with animators and motion designers to ensure your scripts translate fluidly into animated sequences.
• Create screenplays with direction for timing, transitions, visuals, and tone, using formats that animators can easily follow.
• Provide input on storyboards and visual breakdowns when needed.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience writing screenplays or visual scripts for animated content, motion graphics, or explainer videos.
• Strong command of visual thinking: able to break down abstract or factual content into scenes, beats, and visual metaphors.
• Familiarity with animation workflows and collaboration with visual artists or animators.
• Excellent pacing, tone, and structure instincts—especially for YouTube-style storytelling.
• Passion for documentaries, education, science, and history is a big plus.

Bonus Skills:

• Ability to use basic visual tools like Storyboard That, Figma, or Notion for mock-ups.
• Understanding of After Effects or motion graphics tools to communicate ideas more effectively (not mandatory).
