impact of at-fault car accident?

Was involved in a low-speed car accident that my insurance is determining 85% my fault, 15% other driver. No injuries, all vehicles drivable after the accident, cosmetic damage only. and I don't have any other accidents on my driving record.

My question is the impact, because my insurance agent keeps saying "this is so bad", "this is really bad". She kept saying that and it is scaring me a lot. She also said my car insurance rate could go up by +$500 per 6 months. My understanding is this would be in effect for 3 years, so it would be like +$3000 over those 3 years in costs. The other car was a new car that had a super fancy paint job so honestly $3000 is still less money than it would have cost had I offered to pay for the repair myself.

Obviously, this dollar amount is not pocket change. However I can move money around, save, and on the whole afford it, especially as it isn't $3000 up front, it is spread out over 3 years. Personally, this seems like a reasonable consequence that is very managable. I have already invested in a dash cam (wish I had it before this, but such is life) and plan to he extremely careful moving forward.

But whenever my agent calls me she makes it seem like this is the end of the world, or something. And because she just keeps saying (verbatim) "this is so bad", I am having trouble understanding. Is she just catastrophizing because of the dollar amount, or is there something else she isn't telling me or that I don't understand about the situation? Thanks 👍
