Moving to RC (Ellsworth AFB)

I’m not sure if this town will totally be our vibe, but I’m hoping to enjoy our time here and make the most of it. So I’d love to hear from locals or anyone stationed here: What do you like to do for fun besides hiking or hardcore outdoorsy stuff?

A little about me: we just got our assignment here, and honestly, it could be worse! It looks beautiful and has a charming small-town feel (at least from the photos, if that was even really RC). My wife’s optimistic, she loves her job with the Air Force, and a bunch of her classmates got assigned here too, so she’ll know some folks already. She likes hiking and nature, and I like the outdoors too… just not all the time. Im not the type for that to be my main source of entertainment. I’m not a super outdoorsy girlie. I’m like sit outside and paint, write, or read outdoorsy.

I am an artist, I do marketing as my regular gig. I’m more into movies, horror specifically, and Star Wars. I helped build a major anime convention in the Midwest and ran the fashion show for a big J-fashion event, so I definitely love creativity and community. I’ve been in the paranormal community since I was a teenager, thanks to my Mom. I’d love to find some fun, artsy, nerdy, or spooky stuff to get involved in here.
