Fixing iRobot Cliff Sensor

Has anyone had any luck fixing Cliff Sensor errors on irobot roomba vacuums? I have an old roomba 694 that refuses to vacuum because of the cliff sensor. I've replaced it with a midrange vacuum mop combo but I'd like to get it working to use upstairs. Any ideas?
