Cameras in the house (I'm the only one with access)
TW: Talk of SA/abuse/trauma
Is it weird that I'm the only one who wants access to these cameras? I want a camera in every room, even the bathroom (I have a 4yr old who "needs" privacy - he will scream and cry if I try to monitor him in the bathroom) Bath and showers are an absolute nightmare recently. I've had to literally force him to take showers some days (he hates showers) because he doesn't want me in the bathroom with him. (Even though he still can't wipe his own butt and I have to wipe his butt)
Anyways, my husband is now annoyed that he can't have access to said cameras. My husband said it doesn't matter it's his house too and he should have access. And feels like I don't trust him/I'm hiding something. And he'd rather have access in case something happens to me. (Especially with me being pregnant and having a newborn/toddler running around) All good reasons yeah but I'm still weirded out by it.
He said it's home too and he should have access. Yet, I want one in the bathroom while my kids are still young because there's medication in the mirror cabinet, and my son likes to shower by himself. He's 4, and it stresses me out. Best I have gotten is for him to keep the door open and sing a song the entire time he's in there and he knows if he stops I will check him.
Let me explain I trust my husband with my entire being and soul. But, that's what every mother says when they find out a dad did something to their kids. I'm not saying that's going to happen. But, a family member did it to me. Multiple. Both my brothers. They were trusted members of the family. And they did it to me. And no one knew for years. And my parents still don't believe that my one brother did anything because "he's so trustworthy" The other one who is much older and has done horrible things, they were like OH MY GOD THAT MAKES SENSE. He also hurt his own children both the boys and the girls. And possibly a male toddler who was his (now ex)girlfriend's child.
I have extensive trauma because of this and I trust no one except myself. I don't even trust grandparents with him. If I had it my had it my way no one would ever be alone with him until he was an adult. Same with my daughter who's going to be born in a few short weeks. I wouldn't even trust my own children in a room together once they reach the age of understanding sex.
Is something wrong with me? My marriage? Me? Like I know this shouldn't be an issue but I have this fear deep inside my soul where I wouldn't trust ANYONE.
