Beverly Hills Red Light Ticket Traffic Court?

Got a red light ticket in Beverly Hills when I first moved here and I’m going to traffic court to fight it. I ran the light because I was being tailed and did not want to get rear ended. Any suggestions for when I’m in court? Can’t afford to pay the $500. Thanks
