Need help picking a pencil and eraser for extremely thin and delicate paper, natural materials best, if possible.

Help Wanted

I will soon be marking up a siddur for study. This is sort of like the Jewish version of a christian hymnal. If you are still confused, think of the very delicate and thin paper of a pocket bible.

For my writing implement of choice I think I have landed on the Tombow 8900 Drawing Pencil, hardness 2B, though I'm not sure if harder or softer is better for eraseability**. Please advise.**

However, I have no idea what eraser will be delicate enough to not tear this thin and fragile paper. I'm thinking of maybe even a kneaded eraser, though I worry it won't completely erase notes. One last soft restriction is a desire for a natural material, as this is an important book, deserving of more natural ingredients if at all possible.

My best guesses so far from an afternoon of research are:

  • Tombow MONO More Light Touch Eraser (seems to be the softest eraser offered by tombow)
  • Tombow MONO Natural Eraser - Small (made of seashells, which is nice)
  • Faber-Castell kneaded eraser (kneaded erasers don't require rubbing against the paper fibre)
  • Koh-I-Noor – Eraser 300/40 (made of natural rubber and pumice, though it may be too abrasive)

I have left out Sakura Foam Eraser because it contains phthalates.

Please advise :-)
