Cloud Linux VM+GPU vs Local ComfyUI+Cloud GPU

I've been running ComfyUI on the cloud using different service providers. I spin-up a Ubuntu VM running on a decent GPU with a ComfyUI tenplate that gives me access to a ComfyUI instance in the browser.

This has worked for me, but having to wait for the template script to install ComfyUI and all the necessary tools and libraries is a waste of time and money.

I've come across a couple videos showing a locally installed ComfyUI instance that is using remote GPUs for processing.

Have you tried this setup? What are the pros and cons?
