Customers dangling their receipt at you

I hate when I’m covering a door break or lunch and a customer customer dangles their receipt in my face and asks me if I need to see their receipt.I feel like telling them if I needed to see receipt I would’ve asked. I know sometimes they’re just trying to make sure about me checking their receipt but if I’m not approaching you or if I’m looking in another direction I don’t need to see your receipt. I especially hate it when AP has me checking a suspected shoplifter receipt and you get a whole line of people asking me if I need to see their receipt. Yes I know when I’m on the door it’s my job to check receipts for unbagged or big box items but if I don’t ask to see your receipt don’t ask me. But maybe in just being petty about something that’s not that important.
