Broken

Poem

Well, since my Dad is coming home on Friday, you know what that means! I gotta delete my Reddit profile by tomorrow! So here is the last poem I will be posting for a while! It’s called “Broken.” I tried to use the same rhyming styles found in Shakespeare’s Sonnets. Can you guess the theme?

Broken

The shadow emerges from the dark crevasses,

And wraps its ethereal tentacles around my neck.

Like a porcelain doll it shatters me to pieces,

Leaving me a cold, emotionless wreck.

It comes down to my head and whispers “Admit it, you’re a failure,”

“A worthless, degenerate pervert,”

“You’ll never do anything spectacular,”

“You’ll always be a homebound introvert.”

The shadow engulfs me as it continues its taunting,

“You’re a girly, effeminate coward of a man,”

“Of course you like men, you’ll only leave women wanting.”

Tears stream down my cracked face as the shadow consumes me,

“Your right, you’ve spoken,”

“I’ll never be happy,”

“I’ll always be broken.”
