New Hire

Hired on as a BASE mechanic a month ago and just got through my first 30 days. Now officially in the union! Gotta say, as someone who’s been all over doing industrial maintenance and automation, I’ve been pretty disappointed in the “run to failure” mentality here, with no emphasis on preventative maintenance whatsoever. I definitely understand it’s not my direct managements fault, but it’s a sad thing to see when you understand the effects of lowering the priority on fixing machines the right way, and you instead decide to start bandaging things together. It costs so much more in downtime and I just don’t know if they can truly factor that in correctly when talking about cost cutting measures, which is what it’s ultimately all about I suppose. Anyways, I’m here and I plan to keep the packages rolling however I can! Stay hydrated homies.
